I didn't start this because I had a refined palate. I started it because I didn't.
For years I sold espresso machines, and I heard the same thing from customer after customer: they'd bought the machine, they didn't love how their coffee tasted, and they had no idea why, or what to buy instead.
I was one of them. And Cense Coffee is the experience I wish I had, so I built it for everyone just like me!

A DIFFERENT DOOR INTO COFFEE.
Here's the part I want to be upfront about: I'm still not a machine expert. I don't know all the technical ins and outs the way a lot of people in this space do, and I'm never going to be the person who spends her weekends taking apart a grinder for fun.
I own James Hoffman's books, I watch his videos, and what he's built to teach people about coffee, at any level, is genuinely incredible. But he's teaching the world about coffee. I'm here to help you understand yourself: what you taste, what you actually like, and what to do about it, at whatever pace feels right for you. Different door, same love of coffee.
Let me be clear, the people with that deep technical knowledge still matter here, they're a key part of the community we are building, sharing what they know in a way that helps instead of gatekeeps. My job isn't to be the expert. It's to make sure you never feel like you need to become one.
First, we get your setup working right, so you're actually tasting a good cup, not a broken one. From there, the Coffee Compass takes over, learning what you actually like and guiding you toward beans, roasts, and cafes that fit your palate.
